Cut the wrong spring!!!!

Ok. I had a friend of mine who i asked to help install my H&Rs today. I wanted the front cut 1/2 coil. He looked in the box & took out the smaller of the 4 springs. He never worked on an SUV so he figured the smaller springs were the fronts as is the case for most "cars". I didn't notice this till after he had installed the fronts & i saw the rears which were cut! So my question is can i salvage this situation by maybe welding the piece together or do you guys have any recommendations to this issue. Any help or input will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No it wasn't Travis. It's cut 1/2 coil on the rear. The fronts aren't cut. How much more would i have to cut in front to even out? I'm guessing the ride quality will be shot? ugh! :frown:

I cut my front springs 1/2 coil and did not notice that much of a ride difference. My rear springs are not cut, so not too sure how thats gonna ride. But so far cutting the fronts gave it a more aggresive look.

I thought it was not possible to cut back springs? they are not going to seat properly in robber mounts are they?

Just got them done. The rears do fit properly but they ride a bit stiff. Overall it's not so bad. I like it. I have about 1/2 inch clearance in the rears & about an inch in the fronts. She's slammed alright.

Ya, more pics that show how it sits against the fender. Looks like it would sit flush, but is tucked. Looks like it could be nice.
