I'm really considering 24's but not sure if the awesome looks is going to be more of a pain due to the stiff ride and feeling the road more. 22's look great to but after seeing 24;s on another fx passing by, I was like,"DAAAAAAMN!"
Love to hear any ones opinion on this,
Thanks:thumpdown::top:

I think 22's are perfect on the FX.
24's are a no go in my opinion.
I think it "cheapens" the FX.

oh, plus the stress you'll get everytime you approach bad roads, roads under construction, railroad tracks, pot holes, cracks... ya know?

***the worst is when they have unfinished road work, and the lay that big piece of (very thick) sheet metal over it

Ok. Thanks for everyone input. Saves me the stress later. & money. Then with that being said, 22's look great I agree but I'm going to want to lower it with that big wheel well to fill and I red that one of our fellow IS members used H&R springs. Would those be best or Eibach?

you're gonna get a bit of bias answers with the springs... because most of us have either Eibach or H&R... I have Eibach... to my understanding... H&R is a softer ride. Just make sure you get the right ones...

Then I'm probable going to wanna go with the H&R's. Got a 1 year old that I'd like to keep sleep on the those long 15 freeway trips. Like a softer yet firm ride in the FX:cool:
Thanks for the advice TK

see those numbers on the springs (first post)?

yeah... it's kinda important...

Just imagine misjudging the opening entrance of a store or restaurant, and as you turn into the store you slam into the curb.... with the thin amount of tire on 24's...you are pretty much guaranteed a bent rim. 22's would be max in my book.

I prefer 18's myself. No bigger than 20". I would only ever consider going bigger if it was with a high quality, extremely light weight forged wheel. But that would mean serious $$$. I don't want to be adding any extra weight to the car at all if I can help it.

Does anybody know the approx weight of the OEM 18" wheel by chance?

Stockers are heavy

Without tires:
20's 40-42lbs
18's 34-36lbs

I weighed both....

22's all the way. They look very well proportioned on the FX. Plus when you lower on 22's you get a nice sporty look wether you go with Eibach or H&R. I have the H&R and I am very happy with them. I do a lot of long distance driving (vegas/tucson) and I have never had any issues.
