So I was going home from work today when my FX just died on me. I was like WTF, I pulled over to the side and Put the car back to Park. I tried to start it, it did nt start. The second time i tried to start it, it went on.

When I got home, I turned off the engine and started the car again. It started but it kindda struggled a bit. Now I have a check engine light.

I was wondering if anyone had the same experience as me. I'm going to try to bring it to the dealer but I know they're going to charge me a lot just to read the code.

Any advice?????

did you check underneath? any leaking fluids? any cracks or anything in your engine bay that doesn't look proper? look for things that seem out of place, and bring it to your dealer so they can check it out, your fx is an '03 so its most likely out of warranty, let us know what you come up with

i had mine die on the highway back in february... it bogged out, wouldnt accelerate and stopped working. started up and continued on my way home. someone here told me it was a faulty something.... wish i could remember... some kind of sensor... i informed metro infiniti of this and they laughed at me for being a girl and then fixed said faulty sensor.
havent had a problem since except for the bad memory thingy
hopefully the same person reads this and helps you out.

Was it the MAF?

Every thing seems to be alright. Temp is fine, all my fluids are fine. The car is running but I'm kindda scared to drive it. Luckily I wasn't on the freeway or going fast. I'm going to bring it in tomorrow to Infiniti Santa Monica. Hopefully this isn't something major cause I'm out of the factory warranty. I still have the powertrain though.

Like Ash said, I wish it's just a sensor problem.

But it wouldn't cause the car to stop running right?

Not sure to be honest.
Heres a thread where the fellas were talking about it
///987&highlight=maf+sensor

We dont know if this is your cause, I guess the first thing to do is see what code it spits out.

I finally found the code. It's P0340 camshaft position sensor A Circuit Bank 1 or Single sensor.

Now just need to find out how to change it.

Thanks Bert.

After extensive reading last night. I just decided to bring it to the dealer. I know i can chnage the part but after reading the manual, there's a lot of posible causes for the error that I got. So spend more money but have the piece of mind.

Nothing. Got the same code. I just bought the part fromthem and replaced it my self. Just brought it in to make sure that that sensor was the only thing that was wrong with my FX.

What a day!! Today me and Toni(toncruse) went out to look for a good buffer.. My fx was running fine when out of the sudden it just die. I had enough moving force to make it to the nearest exit close to the mall. Toni was ahead of me so he didn't realized what happened. I put my FX in neutral and push it to a parking lot. I parked, try to turn it on, it went on for a few seconds, stalled and shut off. I tried a couple of time and the same thing happened. Since we were close to Sears we went to look for the buffer and leave my FX off for a bit to see If when I came back it was going to be ok.

We came back and the same thing happened. So jumped in on toni's FX and we drove to his house, were we did the best reasonable option Check IS for a solution. We look a couple of threads. I look for the closest description of whatever happened to my fx and this thread sound it like the perfect one.

We went back to my FX and followed John's sujection about cleaning the body throttle. On the mall's parking lot we begin the process. And just like we thought it was Dirty very dirty. So I partially cleaned it and after a high Rev by toni and my FX was good to go!

Thank you IS!!! And john for the detailed sujection!!
