Just wondering if any members have ordered from autogeek.com. I'm looking to buy my first buffer (PC) kit with the right pads and polish for our newly Black truck and the GS/ES.. I've been talking to a gentleman named matt via email and has been very helpful.. I'm also talking to a few other vendors on CL to try to find the best deal and best products to use.

I'm definitely a newbie to the PC world of waxing but the intruction vids make it look pretty easy..

Thanks

I just went through a similar thing ///8839

Ordered my g110v2 from amazon and pads from autogeek.

I just read most of that link you provided.. I'm definitely in the same boat.. My paint on the cars are pretty good so i don't know what polishes to use.. I really don't want anything to abrasive right now.. I was also told that in no way can i damage the paint with the PC.Its perfect for beginners. I just need the buffer, pads, and polish.. I actually have the NXT which is great stuff but I've always applied it by hand so I probably never got a true result..

Autogeek at some great kits for beginners to advance. They have kits with the Griots and Mcquires buffer as well..

Thanks fx...

Nxt is a wax, not a polish, so you're not going to see better results by using a pc. Actually, I prefer to lay down wax with hand rather than using a pc. I have more control on how much wax & how evenly I'm spreading the wax this way. Polish & compound, on the other hand, you need a buffer to see results.

I've ordered from Autogeek before and prices aren't too bad. Now I only order from them when they have free shipping or other discounts. Just look around many different places to see if you can find better deals. I actually bought both my PC and makita rotary from Amazon because they had the best deal at that time. Here are a few that I use.

Different vendors have different items on sale, so just shop around for the best deal you can get for the product you are looking for.

Also if you are a prime member on amazon you save big on shipping. Get a couple people and split the Prime membership costs.

Thanks maybe i worded that wrong.. I know NXT is a wax and your right applying it by hand would be better and have more control... Detailed Image is one vender on CL.. I'm actually talking to phil from DI to piece together a kit for me.. I will check Amazon more thoroghly to find the best deals..

Thanks for the advice..

Well my kit should be arriving Tuesday from glimmerglassdetailing.com.. I've delt with them a few times and got a great deal on a starter kit with extra pads, polishes, and MF stuff for under 200.00.. Looking forward to getting started

Black can a tricky color to keep up. I would do more research on what works best for black paint.
There are products designed especially for black paint, Most avoid the use of wax.
Waxing it is going to be problematic,
Yes you can get a shine but the maintenance involved in maintaining a wax shine on black paint is exhaustive.

Buffing it is going to leave marks and polish will take your paint into a whole new dimension.
My advice is: "Avoid unnecessary friction and don't put anything on your paint that you will have to take off".

please provide links to these products that you claim are designed especially for black paint, most of them doing so without the use of wax.

you are deffinitly confused about something.

where are you getting your information from?

Yeah, I have no idea what you mean here...

WTF?
I have no idea either. Atom, Please stop preaching when you have no clue what you're talking about, as it appears you are no expert. It could lead someone to do the wrong things.
. . & there's nothing wrong w/ wax nor claybars when used properly.
